Scenerio: In the application , I have a REQ ID : R20110004 . it contains my booking details. It has to be approve my manager to proceed the next level. Assuming the data is in some form of database....

Add a boolean onto the end and set to 1 if in use and 0 if ok.

When the manager requests the data, the SQL grabs the ID and checks the boolean at the end. If it's 0, he/she/it can have the data otherwise it tells he/she/it that the data is in use.
