How to automatically save a txt file on local machine from Web App?

I am trying to save a txt file onto the client local drive (c:\Temp.txt) which will contain only xy coordinates generated by my web app. This txt file is to be consumed by another desktop app installed on the client machines.

I am wondering if i can simply save this text file in a push button on the web app without being prompted to save/open/download by the browser.

Pliz, let me know if you have queries.

thanks Loads
Michael
