Agenda:

Michael Hahn, Vasont Software

Eating Your Own Dog Food

Repeated classes and presentations make an excellent case for
reuse and repurposing, one of those things SGML and XML are
supposed to be good for. This presentation discusses the system
I use to prepare and present classes and talks, using the very
technologies I'm teaching and discussing.

The collection of DTD modules and stylesheets will be available
online following the presentation.

Dave Plogeri, Logixml LGX Reporting

XML Inside and Out

The LGX Reporting development platform makes it easy to build
web-based reporting applications. Learn how the server engine
makes interesting use of internal XML structures for great
performance and flexibility. And though databases are the
main reporting target, LGX Reporting works with XML data
too.

April 2005

Jonathan Bruce, DataDirect, XQuery

Hope of XQuery

Join Jonathan Bruce, XQuery Evangelist at DataDirect Technologies, as
he presents The Promise of XQuery, an introduction to XQuery and the
XQuery API for Java (XQJ). As XQuery moves closer to becoming a W3C
recommendation, developers are eagerly looking to take advantage of its ability to dramatically simplify and accelerate data integration and
query XML. Previously JDBC Specification Lead and Architect at Sun
Microsystems, Jonathan will focus on the exciting opportunities that
a formal XML query language presents for Java and for JDBC/SQL
developers who want to evolve their applications to leverage the
growing set of XML data sources.

Tommie Usdin, Mulberry Technologies
