what .net program will open this source code?

Hello,
I am not sure here.
computers have microsoft.net framework1.1.4322
and microsoft.net framework 2.0
I have .exe file on pc to connect to a form connected to a microsoft access database. I am told it was created with visual studio.net ( i think c++.net)

I need to change some things - the guy who wrote program gone. but said If I open this folder with visual studio I can change code.

confused point. the folder has alot of CS files in it. Some files that properties say they are VBExpress.config.9.0 ( does that mean visual basic).
Just wondering what I am looking for and what visual studio I need and is only certain visual studio's compatible with .net framework1.4 and 2.0?
any ideas will be helpfull
Thank you

.CS files indicate that the application was developed using C#
You should look for a .sln (solution file) which will open the project for you.

It sounds like it was developed using C# Express. You can download this tool for free.

It uses the 3.5 Framework so make sure your system has the most current Framework installs/updates.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Make a copy of that folder before you start messing with it. It sounds like you are unfamiliar with Visual Studio and I would had for you to make changes and not be able to start over if those changes turn out to be undesirable.

thank you tlhintoq-i make about 5 backups - i did use visual studio c++ and j++ 6.0- I guess by admitting I used j++ shows you I am unfamiliar with visual studio
thank you
