You say you are new to VB.NET. In that case, if you really want to learn it and be proficient you need resources, so a good book I'd recommend is
Murach's Visual Basic 2008. If you are using an older version of VB.NET or Visual Studio let me know and I will suggest other books if you are interested.
Now, if you don't feel like spending money, there are tons of tutorials on the web and even on this site. A search on
Google using keywords such as
"beginning tutorials vb.net would've given you numerous web sites and resources. To search
Bytes.com tutorials, follow this link:
http://bytes.com/howtos.php and look under the .NET section, and read carefully to see if the language is VB.NET.
