Date and Time run amok

Hey - Not a geek here. This is a simple frustration for a simple guy. My
Clock has gone nuts. It runs incredible fast. if I leave for an hour it
displays a day ahead. If I don't touch it for a few days, it could be 10
years ahead. I have changed and applied settings, I have tried to synch. No
luck. I have check for viruses, nothing. How doI get it back on track and
keep there? HELP!!

Have you checked to see the clock setting in your BIOS?

Follow the instructions for your computer to get into "Setup", often
achieved by hitting the Delete key during boot up, but your computer may be
different. In the BIOS, you should be able to find a place to set date and
time, which will also show you the current settings. Leave your computer
running for a while with the BIOS screen displayed to see if the clock
misbeheves ubder those conditions.

If it does, you have a hardware problem, as Windows is not loaded or
running. In that case, you can change the CMOS battery on the motherboard,
or have a tech do it. Beyond that, you'll need the services of a competent
tech to replace parts.
