Debugging: expression evaluation (VC++ 2008)

Hi,

as I did not get a response in the vstudio group[1], I try it here:

My problem is that I don't know how to display values while debugging a
managed application. The Exe was written in VB 2008 Express. As the Express
version neither has a Threads window nor a Disassembly window, I use VC++ to
debug the application. Only in this particular case, not normally.
So,,, the current line to be executed is:

_Buffer.GetCurrentPosition(CapturePos, ReadPos)

CapturePos and ReadPos are local integer variables. How can I display their
value when debugging? The locals window is empty although all symbol
information is available. Adding them to the watch window is not possible
because no syntax is accepted. The same with the immediate window. A tooltip
over the names is not displayed. Optimization has been disabled in the
compilation settings.

Any idea?

However, that was about native debugging while this one is about managed
debugging.
