hiding literal control

hi,
i m using literal control to store some value but am unable to set it visibility as false. the application works fine when it is visible but gives the some javascript error when visibility is set to false. any help.

Just for the benefit of others that may search out this problem, there's a few ways of setting an item not to display, in some cases, there are repercussions, and in other cases there aren't:

In the codebehind: Set the visible property to false
Or
In the style definition for an object (either inline or in the CSS) you can either set the the "visibility" style to "none" (which in many cases mean you can't reference the object) or set the "display" style to "none".

thanks for replying but for literal we dont have visibility tag(sorry we have), or if we do make it unvisible then the purpose of literal is gone.(means a literal is just static control that hold the value and if it is made unvisible the page doesnt recongnize this tag on loading ).
