Database Connection Monitoring

Hi,
Is there any common WMI class which is useful for monitoring database connection?
I wanted to write a program which will give notification to the user whenever a connection is made to the database.
I dot two classes
Win32_PerfFormattedData_NETDataProviderforSqlServe r_NETDataProviderforSqlServer:
and
Win32_PerfFormattedData_NETDataProviderforOracle_N ETDataProviderforOracle

But they are vendor specific. Is there any way to monitor all the database?

Please reply.
