connect software with keyboard controller in C# language

How to connect software with keyboard controller in C# ?
So the software can interact with the keyboard controller.
i want to build a software about learn piano using a keyboard controller, but i don't know how to connect them.
example:when my keyboard controller play the chord C, then my software can show that the keyboard play the chord C.,,and when the input chord from keyboard controller is false then my software can detect the false and do not playing the sound.
