Issue in deploying web application in IIS.

Hi,
I have a web application created in 2.0 Framework. I deployed this application in the virtual directory of the IIS by right clicking the project and selecting the Publish this web site option in Visual Studio. Publishing was successful but wen i try to open the default.aspx in IE by giving http:\\localhost\Test\Default.aspx in the address bar it just shows the html markups of the default.aspx (the @page directives, entire html contents till </html>)

I also restarted the IIS and tried this option. I also make the published folder as web sharing still it shows the html contents of the aspx page.

I would request you to let me know what has gone wrong

Thanking you in advance.

With regards,
ram

Is IIS Configured? Can you view other asp.net web pages of the same version?

As a starting point I would make sure asp.net is enabled, it is not by default. You can get to this through the control panel, or through the big icon to 'manage my server'.

You do not deply web applications to virtual directories. You deploy them to web applications.
I might be mistaken on that and all you need is to set some executable permissions, but I am pretty sure you have to change the directory to something other then a virtual directory.
Open up your IIS config and select the virtual directory you deployed to. When you right click, somewhere in that menu system should be option to convert it over.

Mind if I ask why?

Although I guess you won't see this post if you are "never coming back..."

Gotta love that. Haha.
I'm sorry, obviously since every single one of my web applications work fine and the OPs don't *I* must be the one doing something wrong.
All well.

I would like to remind anyone that is reading this that, just because I'm a MOD, doesn't mean I am always right. As has been the case I've been wrong on a number of answers, and then I learn the right answer. It is sort of how this site works. Colelctions of minds working together to hash out solutions.

No, I think that he was upset that Plater corrected him, although both were correct. And Plater was speaking to the OP, not this guy, so the whole situation is strange. So far, he's true to his word. His last activity date is the same as the post where he said that he wouldn't come back.
