From what I've read, that error comes up when your connection string syntax is incorrect. Check www.connectionstrings.com and look up excel. Make sure you are doing it right.

Also, if this is for Excel 07 (.xlsx) you have to use ACE, not JET.

I already check the connection string but still same problem. I've tried many ways i can find about the connection string syntax but the problem still there.

conn = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + xtSource.Text.Trim() + ";Extended Properties=\"Excel 12.0;HDR=Yes;IMEX=1;\"";

conn = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + tSource.Text.Trim() + ";Extended Properties=""Excel 12.0;HDR=Yes;IMEX=1;""";

Excel installed in my computer is excel 07 but the excel file i created is .xls. So that means i use JET right?

Well, I'm not sure. Try using ACE and see if that solves your problem. (You can look up an Excel 2007 conn string)

Also, try to output your completed conn string. There may be a mistake in the input text. Make sure that the completed string looks correct.
