Hi John,
From your description, you're encountering some problem when try publishing
a webservice project to a remote server machine, correct
Regarding on this issue, I'd like to confirm the following things:
As for the publishing, are you using the "Build--->Publish Web site" menu?
Also, are you using visual studio 2008 or 2005?
Are you directly using http location to publish the project to remote IIS
or via file share path? If you're using IIS, I suggest you also try publish
the project to remote server via file share path to see whether it works.
When the error occured, is there any particular error messages?
For general troubleshooting, I would suggest you check the target server's
deployment environment such as whether the IIS virtual directory is
configured to the correct ASP.NET version. And whether the target
directory's NTFS security permission is configured correct.
if there is any other finding, please feel free to post here.
Sincerely,
Steven Cheng

Subject: Publish failed on other server
Date: Mon, 11 Aug 2008 04:46:00 -0700
Hi,
I'm trying to publish a new web service that I've written. It's fine when I
publish it on the local PC but I get Publish failed in the development
environment when I try to publish it to another server.
