Data Set Techniques

Hello

I was asked this question in an interview and I need answer:

I am having a dataset say dsone where I fetched data from a table. Now I may have n rows and m columns in my dataset.

How can I pass some rows and few columns into ANOTHER DATASET. (This data set is empty initally and I have to pass thru my front end in c#)

I answered that I will be using array/loop and passing the values.

But, they said it is not the way. Please let me know the answer

2) My second Question: If you run a stored procedure in a master detailed transaction how will you insert/update tables? Asuming that A parent record, which has 10 child records and these records 10 child records may have once again 2 or 3 child records.

a) while insertion how you will insert?
b) when you update how will you update?
c) if the child store procedues fails and returns error how you will be validate ? In the front end or Back end?

Please help me and give me answers
