debug, debugger and release mode

Hi:

Can someone explain me what statements regarding the Debug and
Debugger classes are ignored on release mode?
I am reading a book that says that all statements will be ignored in
release mode (or a mode other than Debug); however I put a
Debugger.Break() and build in release mode, and the built application
detected the break point and stopped working.

Thanks in advance!!

I have seen comments similar to this for the Debug class, but not for the
Debugger class.
