Location of WINDOWS\\system32 inside a computer

hi all,

Is it possible to place the WINDOWS\\system32 anywhere inside a machine.
I have to create a folder inside WINDOWS\\system32 and check for its existance during runtime through c# coding. If the location of the folder WINDOWS\\system32 changes from system to system then i cannot create my folder remotely and read it. Those who have any idea please share it.

Thanks in advance

Grace

As far as I know, it is incredibly unlikely that there would be a non-default install location for a windows system directory. On systems with multiple Windows OSs, you may find that the system directories are on a different drive, so it might be D:\windows\system32 instead. But there is a DirectoryInfo object that you can use. You put the desired path in the constructor, and there is a member called Exists() that lets you know if the dir exists.

Once again, this is fairly unlikely.

You can use %windir%\System32\ to find the directory. Where %windir% is the environment variable with the same name.
Sometimes windows isn't on the "C" drive and sometimes it's listed as winnt\system32\
