i am trying to run a store procedure using this line -

if i run the same thing in query analyzer it runs fine. but when i do that in my aspx page, it returns with that error message? why is that? anyone has any idea? thank you in advance.

Right here is your problem. You are setting the Command Text instead of the Command Type. Change the line to this: -
objcmd.CommandType = Data.CommandType.StoredProcedure
-
And do yourself a favor and look into String.Format. You won't have to concatenate strings like that anymore.
