Hi Schneider,

From your description, you're gettting the following error when try visiting
the asmx page of webservice, correct?

" Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

If the asmx page can not be displayed correctly, "Add Web Reference"
against it will not work. As for the webservice, is it hosted in IIS or
through VS 2008's built-in test server? If it is hosted in test server, can
you run other simple asp.nett web application or webservice project correct
or is this problem specific to the particular webservice? BTW, Visual
studio's built-in test webserver only support request from the local
machine, web application hosted in built-in test server cannot be visited
from remote client.

Steven Cheng

Sorry, lost track of this.

I think this was because I stopped the web service, just a bad error
message.

Thanks,
Schneider
