System Restore

My problem is system restore will run and restore points are created, but
when I try to restore back to a earlier date, system restore starts, reboots
my computer, and then I get the message that my computer could not be
restored back to that point and that no changes were made. System restore is
enabled, set to automatic, and restore points are being created. I looked for
a SR. INF file to see if I could delete system restore and just reinstall it,
but all I found was a sr. and sr.PNF file. Any help would be appreciated.
