Printer and faxes freeze control panel

Anytime I try to print from any program, the program becomes unresponsive. I
can close out the program and try again with the same results. When I open
control panel, and select printers and faxes, the same results occur. When I
shut down the computer, I have to manually end a program called
"hpqtra08.exe". I ran McAffee, which did not find any viruses. I am running
Windows XP on a Dell 700m.
Any suggestions short of installing XP again?

Thanks

This is a programmers group so not the best place to ask.
I suggest you Google for hpqtra08.exe - it seems to be causing lots of
problems but you will turn up some possible solutions. HP seem to have
made a bit of a mess of their recent drivers.
