data table in excel - .NET Framework

Hi All,
I m new to asp.net

I want to make an excel file through code , and populate it throught a data table, this excel should be saved at some place on hard drive and should be opend automatically
I dont want to use reporting services hence I m doind so
Please give only c# example

Please Help

You should be able to do that using ADO.NET. Have a Google around for it and see what it can do.

Don't forget about Interop.

The easiest way to create excel documents is to use the excel engine itself.

Just remember that with ASP.NET, everything will happen on the server, including the creation and saving of the excel file. If you want the user to have the excel file, you will have to present it as a download.
