Using ModalPopupExtender control

Hello experts,

Im using ajax ModalPopupExtender control.

<ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender
ID="ModalPopupExtender1"
TargetControlID="LinkButton1"
PopupControlID="Panel1"
BackgroundCssClass="modalBackground"
DropShadow="true"
OkControlID="cmdOk"
CancelControlID="cmdCancel"
runat="server">

In pop up panel i want to validate fields..When i click ok button it through's the validation message correctly,but the popup closed immediately. I want to show that popup. How can i do this..
