Control Properties

I have a user control which publishes the following property. VS2005
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <DefaultValue(GetType(System.Boolean), "True"), DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)> _
  2.     Public Property Required() As Boolean
  3.         Get
  4.             Return _Required
  5.         End Get
  6.         Set(ByVal value As Boolean)
  7.             _Required = value
  8.             Chk_Required(Me, New System.EventArgs)
  9.         End Set
  10.     End Property
  11.
However I am having trouble with the property changes in design mode persisting to runtime. Am I missing something?
