Spam volume in c.t.x ?

Do you think the spammers are just looking for a match on /\.x\w+/ ?
Any group with a name component beginning with an "x" gets the pr0n
spam dumped into it?

It's appearing in many newsgroups with absolutely nothing in common. I
suspect the only reason we haven't seen it in every group is that some
are running cancelbots.
