C# TableAdapter. Coding a query instead of Dataset.

Hi, i just have a simple question.

I am making a database in C# using visual express 2008. I have decided that i want to try and use the inbuilt functions rather than spend time adding extra functions.

Anyway, i was wondering if it is possible to use an SqlCommand and use a Select SQL query to get the data populated into my forms TableAdaptor.

I know at the moment the TableAdaptor has its own queries that you can add in using parameters. But i want to be able to use dynamic queries where they can change the WHERE statements by a large degree.

How can you do this using the TableAdaptor and binding sources? The .fill command requires a table to be input from the dataset, but thats not what i want.

Thanks for any help you can give. I tried searching this quite a lot, but i think my keywords may have been wrong.
