YOU have to code that progress.
There is a progressbar control that provides you with the means, you just need to compute when to update it.

Determine the amount of "work" that needs to be done and assign max/min values to your progress bar.
Determin and assin the size of the increment to the progress bar.
At intervals durring your "work" call the increment/update functions on the progressbar.

i know that friend....but how do i beforehand compute the amount of work that wil be done...e.g if some procesing is going on some picture then it will take more time for a higer resolution picture than a lower resolution one...then how do i beforehand decide how much time or work its gonna take to decide the max value!!

AGAIN, that is entirely up to you.
Only YOU know how much "work" is going to be done in your program and how much of the overall "work" to be done is taken up by little part.

Why don't you try and implement it yourself, then come back if you have any problems.
We don't do full solutions here, but if you need examples, MSDN has plenty

Perhaps it was your very poorly worded question that is preventing you from getting help.
Or you lack of following posting guidelines.
Or the lack of following the stickies at the top of the forum on best posting practices.

You asked a very broad, open ended question, without any details or reference code. And then requested "an answer" that wasn't just "pick a timeframe". That shouts very clearly "do my project for me and give me the code"

Now then.
If you are having trouble with the Backgroundworker, perhaps you should start by showing how you are using it and WHAT the problem/error is that you are getting.
