office installation error 1935 HRESULT:0x800736B3

I just paid too much money for microsoft office and when I try to install it
I get the above error. Spent 2 days visiting websites!! Tried all suggestions
and I'm still in the dark. When I tried to install .NET Format 2.0 it says
the download was successful but it doesn't show in my programs list. When I
try to fix or reinstall it says it's already there. I can't UNinstall because
it doesn't show as program! Round and round and round. Sounds like I need a
fix for the fix?

Try posting your question to a newsgroup with "Office" in the description.
This is a .Net programming newsgroup.

You can tell if the .Net 2.0 framework is installed by looking in
c:\windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.whatever
