Using the Formatting toolbar in Winforms for VS2008

I just installed VS2008 and have been working with my winform apps. I
can't seem to get the formatting toolbar to become enabled while
editing my winforms.
Am I missing something? Has Microsoft STILL not figured out that
developers want to set colors/fonts using a formatting toolbar instead
of the property sheet?

Hopefully I'm wrong

TIA.
