POS machine serial port communication

Have you had to extract data from a POS (point of Sale) machine? Pls tell me how to extract data from a LX-5600F series, RS232C standard interface POS machine. I need some code and data formats of what would be extracted.

Use the SerialPort class to talk RS232 to it.
After that you're going to have to research what the communication commands are that are used and implement your own version of them.

Thanks Plater, I have this bit of information already. What I need to know is the format of the data output from this type of POS machine, cos i don't have one to test with now. Any other bit of information on serial port communication will be useful

That's not really a .NET question then.
That's a question you should be asking the people who created the POS device.
Or possibly (if there is someone there) someone who has created a previous application for communication with the POS device.
