Validation causing server side code not to fire

1
I have a form with client side validation (requiredFieldValidators) which will not run the server side code on the button click.

The problem is the button should enable the fields, put validation on them and set some default values for the fields, however the default values are done on the server side while the rest is done client side, and the page will not postback as the ReuiredFieldValidators are Invalid.

Im not sure which is the best way to get around this problem.

All suggestions would be welcomed.

What are you wanting the application to do? If you are using required field validators to force the user to enter data then the user must enter the required data before the button click event will be executed. Please explain what you are trying to do in more detail.

thanks
