C#-APP Saving run-time added controls?

Hi!

I'm creating a C# application that allows the user to add controls (custom user controls) at run-time. Is there a standard way to go about saving the controls (location, etc.) so that upon the next run of the program, the user will see things the way they left it?

I was thinking XML file, but if there is a standard accepted way to do this, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it!

Thanks in advance!
