Upgrade Web Application from 2.0 to 3.5

I have a web application deisgned and built for .net 2.0. I am having a problem with the GridView so I am trying to upgrade the application to .net 3.5 to see if this helps.

When I opened the application in Visual Web Developer 2008 it said "Do you want to configure the site to use the 3.5 framework". I did this but all I get is lots of errors whentryign to run it. Some of which I do not know how to fix.

Is there an easy way to upgrade an application?

What errors are you getting when trying to use your gridview? I really don't see a benefit in upgrading your app to 3.5 just to fix an issue with your gridview that is unless you plan on utilizing Windows Communication Foundation or Windows Presentation Foundation.
