Errors propagating before users

I have a thorny issue that we've been unable to resolve now for
months.

First our web ap uses framework 2.5, and IIS 6.0. What happens is
that ocassionaly (once every 5 months or so) a user encounters an
unhandled exception.. but from that point on ALL sessions experience
different errors until IIS is restarted. I'm at my whit's end on this
one... any suggestions ?

TIA
