Writing to a File Problem

Hi all I am having trouble with this code to write a short bit of info into an existing file. Heres what I have

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Dim MyString As String
  2.         Dim ReadString As String
  3.         Dim iFr As Short
  4.         iFr = FreeFile()
  5.         ReadString = CurDir() & "\Globals.vb"
  6.         FileOpen(iFr, 1, OpenMode.Append)
  7.         MyString = "UnlockAdd = True"
  8.         FilePut(iFr, MyString)
  9.         FileClose(iFr)
  10.
I ran it with the debugger to test it and I get the error message
'System.IO.IOException' occurred in microsoft.visualbasic.dll"
"Bad File mode"
The breakpoint is on the line;
FilePut(iFr, MyString)
What am I doing wrong?
Is there another way to do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance,
James
