wrong MD5 checksum for pdf file

hi ,


i m trying to generate MD5 checksum (32 char) for xml file or other file using

string Result ;
Result=System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.Has hPasswordForStoringInConfigFile(str, "md5");

but it is not working for PDF file bcoz i dont have pdf reader class


if anyone know to get right MD5 checksum without streamreader please post me
