Computer will not go into hibernation or standby mode

Hi, I don't understand what's wrong with my computer. I have always been
able to put it into hibernate and standby but recently whenever i click on
hibernate or standby, nothing happens. Has anybody else had this problem, or
know of a solution for it?
Thank you
Missy

You're posting to the wrong newsgroup/forum. You need to post to
MS.Public.Windows.XP.General or to whatever operating system is on your
computer.

The ng/forum you're posting to now in a dotnet programmer's ng/forum.
