Keeping a static object alive

2
I have a Form in C#.Net which manages the connection of serial ports. I programmed it such that if the form is closed the port connections are disconnected.

But i want to hide the form rather than to keep it in the back. i die try giving it hide(). it hides but it again shows up with out any invoke.

Please advice how to hide a form effectively such that processes may run on it but it should remain hidden unless invoked by user.

Thanx

Calling .hide() should hide the form until such a time that .Show() is called on it.
What I suspect is that you are creating a new instance of the form at some point and it is showing up, even though the other one iss still hidden?
