Hello everyOne,

I have build one active x control, now use this active x control in website, now i want to run this website in different machine with link http://192.168.0.3/Website/Default.aspx.

But the requirement is that .net framework must be installed on each machine where i want to run the link, but i don't want to install .net framework in each machine.

So, is there any solution to run webpage in machine without .net framework, or to install only the files necessary to run my page.

The framework is necessary, that is why most people run their applications on one web server. Why do you need to run the page on another machine?

Tip - I'd be careful about tripple posting on this forum, the moderators on this forum are sticklers for the rules.

So is their only one system hosting the web page? (aspx)

If thats the case then your client / user PC's do not have to have .Net framework. The .Net framework in this case is only needed by the server.

First of all Thank's for ur Reply,

What u r saying is correct, but actually my web page is containing Activex Control, for which the requirement is that, the dll of activex control should be register in GAC of client machine, because my page is runnig in client side,i am not using any server side control.

So it is required that client machine should have .net framework,But i don't want to install whole .net framework of 24 mb,that why i want to install only the files which are required by my application.

Help me if u have any solution.

I agree that installing .net framework in all machines is not a good idea. If there is no server side it is unlikely to require .net, except that you are publishing it as a .dll so there is. Bottom line is your design seems to require this, either change your design or swallow that bitter tasting pill. Your application appears more like a windows application.

I suggest on your next posting give more information, including about your platform, which can save our experts time in answering your question. Thanks.

I am curious as to what windows machines DON'T have .NET on them already?
(Non-windows machines I see perfectly reasonable to not have .net abilities)
But .NET has come bundled in the windows installs since before 2002. Pretty long time to go without upgrading PCs.

That aside, all you can do is create a NON-.NET version of your activex control and use that instead

That is where the OP info is lacking, which OS? If they have XP, I have sp2, then no. However, windows server is different but it would be unusual for the other machines to have this OS - and if they did which version of the framework?

Nice third option, may be more palatable than that bitter pill ;). Another option is provide a warning, "WARNING - this computer will explode if you don't install .Net Framework x.x. Please do so before using this application".
