Defrag Error

I have XP Home Edition. About a month ago I tried to defag my hard drive. I
had just cleared out all temp files, etc and wanted to defrag which I had
been doing about once a month.

A gray dialogue box popped up with the following message. "Detected that
chkdsk is scheduled to run on volume: (c). Please run chkdsk/f.

I did try to use the start button, enter "run" and typed in run chkdsk/f.
This did not do anything.

Can anyone out there tell me what is wrong?

Thanks very much for any insight.

Yes. Ask your question in a group dedicated to XP if you want answers. This
is a .NET programming group.

To find a XP group:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...D-2224A4FEB3EA

Select your language from the Tree View on the left, then scroll down to
Windows. In the Windows category, open Windows XP and find an applicable
group there.

You can perform a defrag by moving tablespaces. Is there a generic script that I can use to run after hours?
