windows XP Home cd boot????

tried to turn on my laptop, haven't used in awhile and I now have a blank
screen...It's like my windows XP Home is gone...can get into BIOS and set to
boot from cd rom...but it says boot from CD press any key I do that says
checkin hardware config .....and then nothing happens...I have floppy disk
but floppy on my computer doesn't work...what should I do....or what can I
do...Pls help ....why would my operating sys just be gone any suggestions
....very confused. all help grtly appre. in advance.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with managed C++ programming - the subject
of this newsgroup. I hope you find some helpe somewhere, but this is not
the place to be looking for it.

This is a newsgroup dedicated to Visual Studio C++, .NET programming. You should try posting in a more appropriate newsgroup, for
example, microsoft.public.windowsxp.setup_deployment
