C#:Creating Login

hi all
i need to create a login page.

I have three fields in my UserMastertable

1.Login Id
2.UserName
3.Password

I had loaded these values in a dataset.
nOw i need to compare the values UserName and Passwd given in a form by user with column values in dataset! How?

help me

Why using Login Id and again .UserName for login . you can use either of them .

when you are storing the data (at the time of registration) make sure that these are unique values. so when the user enters the credentials compare with database using count(). If count returns 1 then only login and proceed further else display an eror message and prompt to retry for login.

Why using Login Id and again .UserName for login . you can use either of them ....
i assume Login Id is an auto generated id and allowing same username with different password.
