Asp And Javascript

Hi all,
I have created a class for my asp .net2 web page
called Class1. This class has a static method named method1
with one parameter a.
i want to call this method from javascript.
i used this

function ddd(){
var parameter=form.somecontrol.value;
alert(<%=Class1.method1(parameter)%>);
}

how can i pass a javascript variable to this function (method1)?
Please help
