how to close form in C#

I need to close a form assume form2 whn its close button is clicked.

i tried like this

public void close_click()
{
form2 f2=new form2();
f2.close();

} but not working .
help me

Hi,
What you are doing there is creating a new Form object and then closing it.
So nothing would actually happen in that.

Do you want to close the form you are currently in?
that is on clicking that button do you want to close that form?

If thats the case then call
this.close();
instead of creating a new object and then closing it back again.
using this refers to the current object you are in. And hence losing the current object (in this case is the form) closes the form.
