Database Connection String Question

62
Hi Guys

I have th efollowing connection String:

conn.ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=ADDRESS.ACCDB;Persist Security Info=False";

This allows the application to run no matter where I copy the contents of the bin folder to as the databse is located in the bin folder with the exe.

My question:

When I publish the application, it does not work as th eprogram cannot seem to find the database. I was told that there i ssomething I have to add to the connection string to force the .exe to look for the database in the same folder. Something like Application.path.

Can anyone please provide me with the correct syntax to do this.

Many Thanks,

Lóan Burger

Can you post the address (Path) you given in connection string?
Note : Do not give directly like C:\MyPath\MyDB.AccDB

Hi The way I am running it at the moment is

conn.ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=ADDRESS.ACCDB;Persist Security Info=False";

This as the database is located in the Bin folder. I am not specifying an address path, as the program will not run if I move it between hard drives.

I've alway sjust poinjted the data source to the database name which was located with the exe. file.
