All Excel screens close when I close any one of them in Vista.

This may be a problem with other programs as well, but so far i've only
noticed it in Excel. I will be working with two spread sheets and each will
have it's own button on the taskbar, but when i close one any other excel
windows close as well which has been a real issue as i keep forgetting that
vista does this. Is there a preference setting that can be changed? or
perhaps a patch that can be downloaded. i really don't like this if it is
supposed to be some new sort of feature by Microsoft.

Hello Jon,

This is not a Vista issue. It happens under WinXP as well (I am talking about
Office 2003).
It is one of those inconsistencies in Microsoft's programs.

This is an inconsistency in Excel. Word doesn't do this.

Just make sure that when you are done with one of your Excel files you hit
the lower X in the top-right of the program, not the upper-most X.
