VB.NET Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference??

I don't understand why this isn't working. I am trying to have the button create a fill a table I guess when they click a button. I am having so much trouble with this.
The table adapter is called CompaniesTableAdapter and the dataset is called GetActiveCompanies.



Protected Sub btnCompanyLookup_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCompanyLookup.Click
Dim GetActiveCompanies As DataSet1
GetActiveCompanies.Clear()
CompaniesTableAdapter.Fill(GetActiveCompanies)
End Sub

End Class


The error I am getting is on CompaniesTableAdapter.Fill
and is
Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference.

Please help me.

Shouldn't this be:

Dim GetActiveCompanies As DataSet
 

And your "CompaniesTableAdapter" object is declared as a member of the form your button is in?

For some reason it won't let me change the dataset name to just dataset without an error.
It is either dataset1 or dataset2.

I am not sure what you mean by CompaniesTableAdapter object is declared as a member of the form your button is in. Is there any way to simplify that any more. lol I am lost.

Well the class name is DataSet, I have no idea what DataSet1 and DataSet2 are?

And by member I mean uhh, well where is that object declared?
