Vista ultimate Requirements

I recently installed Vista Ultimate & just realized why it has been
performing so slowly. The requirement is 1gb of memory & my laptop only has
512. How big a problem & how expensive is it to add additional memory to a
laptop.What is the minimum amount that I should upgrade to?

I can say min is 2 GB, even then some stuff slow.

Well this is off topic for this groups, but I'd put 2gig in
at least. As for cost, I can't say as I've never owned a
laptop.
