is your IIS/firewall configured to allow that?

Yep, check that the communication is active and allowed (ping, telnet), then check also the browser settings on the machine trying to connect. Make sure it is set up to by pass the proxy for local addresses and also add that IP to the list of IPs that do not require the proxy.

unless you try telneting into port 80, that doesn't prove that your firewall allows access through for webpages.

what if you don't specify a page, does
http://(the computer's IP Address)/ work?

Can you telnet the port that you use for http requests (probably port 80)?

I know this has already been asked...but I'm going to ask again anyways :)

Have you check that you have set your Windows Firewall to allow the Browser (IE, Firefox etc) through?

Then you need to allow access to that port in your firewall settings.

Have you set your browser settings on the accessing machine to by pass the proxy for local addresses and added that computer's ip to the list of addresses to access without the using the proxy?
