VB-FORM : Disable a device(keyboard)

2
Whell here's the problem ...

i'm working on a barcode program in VB.NET 2005 form.
At one point the users will have to identify with 3 letter code
like this Homer Simpson will become HSI.
They all have a personal card with their ID in barcode.
and are NOT allowed to type these letters, only to scan it with barcode scanner, however they do need the keyboard to type in numbers(the amount of products they just finished fot that day)

so i can't block input cause i wouldn't be able to scan anymore.
so i might have been thinking can i disable/enable a specific keyboard
or any device.

Can it be done ? Or maybe other suggestions on the matter would mean so much thx

ps : Sorry for my poor english i'm from Belgium
