Windows XP Home Service Pack 2

I recently had to wipe out my computer and reload the OEM start up disk. Of
course I have had an incredible number of updates. All have been fine until
the critical Service Pack 2. It goes through the wizard and gets to the
point where it starts to install. At the same point every time it gives me
the message "Access Denied." Everything then uninstalls and I gain nothing
for over 45 minutes of file transfers, etc. I've had SP2 before with no
problem. What could be going wrong? I turned off my firewall and I still
can't get through. Any help out there?

Try downloading SP2, then installing from your local drive.
